MASTERS WEEK INSPO!

Even though the Masters has more of a green and white aesthetic, I think these pink and green finds fit right in. Especially with he gorgeous pink azaleas that line the course. Check out this adorable purse! When I found it on amazon, I immediately thought about the Masters. It would not be ideal to take to the Masters tournament but could be perfect for a Masters viewing party or as a clutch for spring/ summer parties and outings. How cute are the pink shoes? I love the white dress as well. It could be the perfect graduation dress for the upcoming 2024 high school grads! The scallop shorts set is pefectly adorable as well. I love the azalea earrings. I’m having a moment with floral earrings right now! These are too fab and come at a great price. The green sunglasses - my step-daughter bought these and I thought they were the coolest! Enjoy Masters week and this gorgeous spring weather! Shop the links below….

Spring is in full effect and summer is just around the corner! I love to dine outside when the weather warms up. The dining essentials above will kick your spring and summer outdoor entertaining dinner parties up a notch. Whether you are hosting guests or making a special dinner for your family. Also, I’m certain brides would love to receive any of these items as a wedding gift ( I know I would have:-). Make happy memories with a gorgeous tablescape this spring and summer!

The Iconic Barcelona Chair

I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Furnishings and Interiors. The absolute best degree they offer for gals like me! In one course, we were asked to draw the most iconic chairs in history and so I discovered my favorite chairs were from the Bauhaus period. A little about the Bauhaus movement. The Bauhaus school of design was created in Germany and only existed for 14 years from 1919-1933. It’s mission was to unite art and functional design. The ultimate goal was to create designs that were both functional and pleasing to the eye which is where the ideal, form follows function originated. The Barcelona chair was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in conjunction with architect and Interior Designer, Lilly Reich. It is in my opinion, the best marriage of this school of thought. The chair is so sleek, yet very comfortable. It is likely the most commonly reproduced chair from this time period and is used in offices and homes alike. Personally, I love the idea of having a little fun with side chairs. The mix of traditional elements and contemporary designs brings a sense of unexpected originality to a space. Below are a few photos of Barcelona chairs on movie sets and in living rooms. I’ve linked a few options to purchase as well! This sight contains affiliate links. Serene Bedroom

This bedroom features my painting, “Emerge Freely.” The painting has a very serene vibe to it. I painted a top layer of cream over a very energetic underpainting. To me it looks as if you are peering into a vibrant world from an otherwise tranquil disposition. The lamps and rug are a soothing blue color. The draperies are blackout lined and sold a t a very reasonable price point. The bedding is gorgeous and also a very good price point. I added an art light. Art always looks best when it is lit properly. The side tables have an art deco look - I love curved sides. They add a lot of pizazz to this super “serene” bedroom! The bench has sleek lines and the comfy sherpa fabric is very inviting. The precious pup is not for sale but he sure looks like he fits right into this cozy bedroom! Enjoy shopping! I do receive a commission from the following links….. Bed, Side table, Lamp, Bedding, Bench, Draperies, Rug, Basket, Art Light, Art

Living Room a Deux

I was listening to a parenting podcast yesterday and the hosts were discussing the movie, the parent trap. One of my all time favs! I’m partial to the original with Haley Mills. I wanted to be her so badly. I begged my Mom to send me to camp when I was 7 so that I could meet my long lost twin! I just knew I’d meet her there. Little did I know, many moons later, I’d marry a twin and then have twin girls! Twins are the BEST!! I longed to be a twin as a child. I dressed up with my friends in matching clothes and we’d pretend to be twins. I really had an admiration as many people do, for twins! It has been a joy to watch my girls grow together and I have loved witnessing the “twin bond” they share and have shared from the minute they were born. I think my husband talked to his twin brother for at least an hour on the phone yesterday. It’s a magical thing and I am absolutely fascinated (and surrounded) by twins!

This room has several sets of “two” going on. The sofa is made with Italian leather. I’ve linked a less expensive option although this one is quite affordable for a leather sofa. I love the sleek black garden stools.the drapes have trim sewn on and are blackout lined! Love that blue color. The rug is washable. The painting is also available! Wink wink! Enjoy the view and cheers to all the twins in the world!

EASTER INSPIRED FOYER

I drove by a gorgeous Bradford Pear tree in my neighborhood yesterday and thought, I would love to do a spring green look! I have this adorable bunny painting I did a few years ago and it is the perfect little inspiration piece for my room. I usually put my bunny paining on display in our foyer each Easter season so I thought a foyer design would be a fun project during this almost spring/ St. Patick’s day coming/ Easter season time period we are in! Happy weekend and don’t forget to click the links below to shop! XOX

LITTLE GIRL ROOM TO BIG GIRL ROOM

This room was inspired by my latest painting, “Poolside Cabana.” This painting has been hanging in my twin girls bedroom ever since they were babies (they are 9 now). I have always wanted to change it here and there so this week I got to work zhuzh’ing it up! I am so much happier with the way it turned out! I found so many precious bedroom ideas on amazon. BLUE CHRISTMAS

All I want for Christmas is blue and white! I have always wanted to decorate our home in blue and white for Christmas. We already have a pretty hefty collection of blue and white in our home but I would love to take it up a notch and go all out. I adore blue, white and red together as well. It’s just so classic. To me, Christmas memories should be procured in a classic and traditional manner. Pull out all of your Grandmother’s blue willow and happiness jars, add some pretty red bows and do Christmas the blue and white way! Check out my inspo pics and a few shopping links to make your home sparkle in the coming season.

BIG BOY ROOM

I have posted a lot about pink lately but my love for blue is endless! When I was pregnant with my (not so little) son, Patterson, I had an absolute ball designing his nursery. I wanted it to feel baby-ish but I wanted the basics of his room to be able to withstand the test of time as he grew up. I have always said his room is my favorite in our home! This was a fun boy room I have designed! The Art work was actually made by my children as well as my nieces over Labor Day weekend. I do workshops occasionally with kids where we create abstract paintings together. The creations these kiddos come up with ALWAYS blow me away! Stay tuned for my next workshop details leading into the holiday season!

Stately Stateroom

I watched Below Deck Mediterranean last night and I just can’t stop dreaming about re-designing the Below Deck Down Under yacht, Thalassa. Out with the mahogany, Thalassa! We need to lighten you up like the yacht on the latest season of Below Deck Mediterranean, aptly named HOME. Of course, I love Capt. Sandy of the Mediterranean series but I gotta say, Capt..Jason is quite easy on the eyes! His Australian accent is 💯 as well. Everything pictured below is from either Amazon or Etsy. Add a lil’ yachtie touch to your bedroom on a land lovers budget. 😉

YACHT ROCK

Bravo TV holds a special place in my heart! Especially the Below Deck series. As I’ve watched the latest Below Deck Down Under season, I can’t help but think that boat needs a makeover, stat! It’s very tired, filled with dark mahogany, swirly iron staircases and unpleasant accessories. Let’s give that mega-yacht a makeover - a boat on a tv show deserves nothing less than the best! Palm Beach Peek

This design was inspired by the alluring tall hedges that surround the gorgeous and utterly exclusive mansions in Palm Beach, FL. Don’t you just want to take a peek? I have always been fascinated by other peoples homes. Especially the BIG ones! Driving down West Paces Ferry in Atlanta or Sea island Drive in Sea Island, GA was so captivating to me as a child. Who lives there and what’s inside??? Curiosity is a strong human desire that unfortunately does not exist very much in todays world. Take a peek over the hedges and create a little palm beach vibe in your backyard!

Poolside in a peacock chair…

I’m trying to hang on to summer over here! Even though it stays warm well into November in middle Georgia. Can you just imagine lounging in your pink peacock chair with a margarita in hand, gazing at your pool post-swim in the late afternoon? Sign me up! I have always loved a peacock chair - they always add a fun 70’s vibe to a room! This piece I call “SPLASH” would certainly look pretty in a pool cabana surrounded by fresh, happy accents. Maybe in Palm Beach, Bermuda or perhaps in Sotogrande, Spain as depicted in the photo below by Slim Aarons.

BIG GIRL ROOM

My girls are constantly begging me to paint their room PINK! I understand dearly because I had a glorious pink room as a child. I don’t think I could have lived in there unless it was painted the pinkest pink we could find. As an artist, I have found many many many versions of pink. From the hottest neon magenta to ballet slipper pink, I adore all shades.. I found a gentler version of pink in the background of my collage below. It could possibly carry little girls through the teenage years a bit better than my former pepto pink room allowed. I also think it’s fun to mix in different shades of pink in my paintings. I think just about every painting I’ve ever done has at least a smidge of pink in one shade or another. It always seems to add that extra, unexpected touch. I never feel like I’m truly finished with a painting unless the pink is applied.
